Dietrich VanderWaal, S.C. opened its doors and began offering legal services on September 1, 2018. However, the sum of its parts goes back much further.

The Firm shareholders are Dean R. Dietrich and Shane J. VanderWaal. Our shareholders have more than 65 years of experience in school law, municipal law, labor and employment law, and more. In addition to the shareholders, the Firm employs two attorneys and one of counsel attorney with another combined 40 years experience. The attorneys at Dietrich VanderWaal share a commitment to service to their clients and are able to assist each other to meet all client needs.

Dietrich VanderWaal, S.C. has extensive experience in working with governmental officials and represents numerous municipalities and school districts throughout Central and Northern Wisconsin. We stress sound legal work, cost efficient services, insight into factors affecting public employers, understanding of the fiscal restraints applicable to public employers, and the advantages to be gained by good planning and careful execution. The firm uses the most modern equipment available to reduce the cost of its legal services, including computerized billing software, legal research such as Westlaw, and the Internet for communication with clients. We are in constant contact with the staff of the Department of Public Instruction and have immediate access to all state court and federal court decisions and Wisconsin Attorney General opinions.

Our job is to solve problems with the greatest possible efficiency. Our goal is to guide clients into positions that minimize potential issues in the first place. However, if a client matter arises that proceeds to any administrative or court proceeding, know that we will be with you all the way.
